Scuba diver attacked by shark off Adventure Bay in Tasmania
- A male diver was injured in a shark attack off the coast of Tasmania on Saturday, police said, the latest in a spate of shark attacks in Australian waters.
- The 31-year-old was diving around 50 metres (164 feet) offshore in the Adventure Bay area of Tasmania's Bruny Island when he was bitten by what was believed to be a 2-metre (6.6 ft) broadnose sevengill shark, at about 9.10am (2310 GMT).
- "The man was able to return to shore and was assisted by fellow divers," Police Inspector Darren Latham said in a statement.
