Families reunited as USS Lincoln comes home after record 9-month deployment
- Thousands of emotional reunions unfolded Thursday as the USS Abraham Lincoln, whose lengthy deployment in the Gulf supporting President Donald Trump's war on Iran sparked fears for its crew's welfare, arrived back in its home port.
- Families of servicemen and women had lined the quayside in San Diego, California, for hours, waiting to welcome loved ones they have not seen for almost a year.
- There were tears of joy as more than 100 new dads met their babies for the first time, or fathers were reunited with children who are so much taller than last time they were together.
